District Projects
The Cabinet Installation of Lions District 318C for the year 2024-25 was conducted at CIAL Convention centre, Kochi on 21st July 2024. The event kickstarted the eventful year for Lion Rajan N Namboothiri PMJF as District Governor & his cabinet team. It was attended by over 2600 Lions and family members. The installation of officers was completed by International Director Lion Pankaj Mehta. The great location and the grand manner of the event was concluded with a musical extravaganza by the famous music director Gopi Sundar.
The signature projects of district 318C, Lions Community Kitchen & Dialysis Centre was inaugurated by Lion Dr. Patti Hill, LCIF International President on 23rd July 2024 at Lions Eye Hospital, Sasthamughal. The community Kitchen will serve free meals to over 500 needy people every day all through the year. Dialysis centre will house 10 machines and will conduct around 900 free dialysis per month.
UN Day Celebrations was conducted at Alappuzha in a grand manner on 24th October 2024. The event started at 4:45 PM with a rally from Quit India Square Zero Junction, and concluded at the SDV Centenary Hall in Alappuzha where the official meeting was held. The event was inaugurated by District Collector Alex Varghese IAS and chaired by Lions District Governor PMJF Lion Rajan N Namboothiri. UN day message was delivered by Sri Jacob Punnoose IPS (Former DGP of Kerala) and John V. George IPS (former DGP of Haryana) delivered the keynote address.
White Cane day was observed by Lions International District 318C on 15th October. A proclamation rally was conducted all through the district on 14th October with a Tableau for public awareness which was received by Past District Governors & lion leaders at different locations. The final rally on 15th October was flagged off by Sri Bijo Alexander, Superintendent of Police. The rally which was conducted in association with District Blind Association concluded at Lions Club of Tripunithura.
Lions Vidyaarambham was conducted in Lulu Mall on 13th October in the presence of celebrities like Actor-Director Sreekanth Murali, Gandhian Sreeman Narayanan, Singer Sudeep Kumar, Writer-Director Abhilash Pillai, Dancer Kalamandalam Sophia, and Actress Krishna Prabha. All these celebrities helped the little ones write the first letters and start their journey of knowledge. All the kids belonged to the tribal areas in Idukki and they and their parents were given the opportunity to explore all the amenities and entertainments at lulu Mall including the Funzone without any cost.
